Our role as project agency is to answer any questions concerning the funding of research and development projects and to support the BMBF’s work to design and supervise research programmes.

We provide assistance for the research projects that arise from the “Research for civil security” programme. This involves us assessing, controlling, managing, monitoring the performance of and rating the projects as well as tracking their progress and performance. We organise the work-related and administrative support for (potential) funding applicants, on behalf of the BMBF, in all phases of the project and provide free advice on all matters concerning funding and applications. 

In addition, the National Contact Point Security Research informs research establishments, institutes of higher education and businesses about EU funding possibilities for security research.
